How do I use my iTECHBM500?

1. Ensure your battery is fully charged (13.5V if you have lithium batteries). 2. Connect the negative cables from all loads/chargers to the P- terminal of the shunt. 3. Connect the shunt's B- terminal to the battery's negative. This can be mounted d

I'm not sure I've connected my iTECHBM500 correctly

Please follow the below steps for the correct installation of your battery monitor:. 1. Charge your battery (or batteries) to 100% before installing your iTECHBM500 with shunt. If your batteries are lithium-chemistry, the voltage must rest at or abov

The percentage reading doesn't match the voltage

This indicates that a charging method or load is connected directly to the battery rather than going through the shunt.

The voltage increases, but the percentage does not

This indicates a charging source is charging the battery, but the negative cable is not connected to the iTECHBM500's shunt.

The voltage decreases, but the percentage does not

This indicates a load is drawing from the battery, but the negative cable is not connected to the iTECHBM500's shunt.

Why do you not supply a cable from the shunt to the battery?

We do not supply this cable, as all installations vary and require different cabling lengths. Therefore, we advise customers to source it themselves.

My iTECHBM500 shows the battery icon to be empty even though there is a high voltage in the battery

This indicates that the iTECHBM500's voltage setting is too high. Please note that this floor voltage setting should be set to 10v. Click here to follow the step by step instructions to set up your BM500.

The voltage on my iTECHBM500 is increasing but my capacity is staying the same

This indicates that a charging source is connected to the battery but not to the shunt. Ensure that the negatives from all charging sources are connected to the ‘P- terminal’ on the shunt.

The voltage on my iTECHBM500 is decreasing but my capacity is staying the same

My iTECHBM500 shows an empty battery icon despite being at a high voltage

This indicates either one or both voltage settings have not been set correctly. For lithium batteries, please ensure the HIGH V setting is at 13.5V and the LOW V setting is at 10.5V. Then, hold the UP arrow from the home screen for a few seconds. You

My iTECHBM500 is not lighting up

Please step through the below troubleshooting tips:. - Ensure the battery it is connected to has a high enough voltage to light the monitor up (anything over 11V for lithium batteries). - Ensure there is a solid connection between the shunt's B- term
